Kanuhura Kids Club

November 07 2017

The Maldives, an unfettered paradise that rises out of azure waters, is the quintessential island destination for gypsetters and free-spirited wanderers. And with a myriad of incredible water sports, wonderfully authentic Maldivian adventures and a wide array of excellent dining choices, you can rest assured any trip to the Maldives is bound to be a memorable one—for the whole family. While adults can indulge in expertly crafted cocktails along the beachfront and epicurean delights, mini gypsetters are afforded an equally exciting utopic adventure at Kanuhura. At our K Club, a world of adventure awaits young explorers. Here's why our K Club is in a league of its own:

It’s a luxury hideaway of their own
The exceptional kids club at Kanuhura is conveniently and centrally located, near the resort’s reception area and a few metres from the pristine, idyllic beach. Stylishly designed with the same creative bohemian flair as the rest of the resort, it boasts an air-conditioned indoor area perfect for playing games and taking naps. The outdoor area has been carefully created to suit young explorers; the covered terrace offers a safe place for your kids to indulge their creative sides as they paint masterpieces and decorate cupcakes. There is also a splash pool ornately decorated by a three-metre high purple flower “waterfall” and a wonderful wooden jungle gym, which curious and active kids can enjoy to their hearts’ content.

Kanuhura is a quintessential playground
Kanuhura offers little globetrotters a magical experience in paradise and lends itself to an incredible range of activities. Which means that while you are making the most of your time away indulging in some much-deserved downtime, you can rest assured your children are excellently catered for. At the K Club, there is no limit to the possibilities—over and above the facilities at the club itself, kids can partake in a range of water sports (from banana tube rides and sailing to Jetlev), and explore the underwater world (supervised by our expert kids club counsellors, of course).

There are also weekly cooking classes, arts and crafts workshops, fishing trips, movie nights (set under the incredible Maldivian night sky), scavenger hunts and chocolate making classes included in the kids club programme. At the K Club, every day promises a new and exhilarating experience.

There are specifically tailored menus for kids
Our little fans are as important to us as their parents, which is why at the Bottega, Veli and the K Club itself, we offer special menus created with our younger guests’ palates in mind. Instead of the sophisticated fare that their parents can savour at our phenomenal restaurants, kids can indulge in the likes of chicken nuggets, creamy spaghetti, mini cheeseburgers and pizzas, affording them their idea of a culinary journey.

Teens can join in the fun too
While teens don’t quite require the attention of younger fans,  at Kanuhura they are definitely not forgotten. The programme for teens includes an array of exciting more age-appropriate activities such as football, beach volleyball and fishing trips.

There are special programmes over Easter and Christmas
Looking to head the Maldives for a memorable Christmas or Easter? Then you and your kids are in for a wonderful treat, with excellent festive season programmes and surprises designed to wow and sure to bring a true sense of occasion and magic to these special celebrations.

There’s always a plan B
The great thing about planning a trip to Kanuhura is that you don’t need to worry too much about the weather not cooperating. Come sunshine or rain, we have an excellent range of activities that are sure to delight both you and your little ones.

Kids can enjoy typically Maldivian activities
What truly sets the K Club apart from any other kids club, is that it has all the offerings already mentioned, set in the tropical idyll of the Maldives. This also brings a huge range of typical Maldivian activities and authentic experiences that kids can enjoy.  They can learn how to play the Maldivian drums, also known as the Boduberu, enjoy the excitement of a hermit crab race (where they mark their hermit with their specified number and put them in the same spot in a circle, and see which crab reaches the edge of the circle first) and relish a pirate cruise.

While the pirate cruise is not technically Maldivian, it gives little adventurers the opportunity to navigate its crystalline waters in a wonderful fashion. Kids create their own costumes in a themed arts and crafts session and then don their costumes on an unforgettable trip to one of Kanuhura’s deserted islands to dig for treasure!

Kids under 12 stay free
Not only is a trip to the Maldives sure to be a once-in-a-lifetime adventure for the whole family, and a time where incredible timeless memories and precious moments are created and shared with your nearest and dearest in the most gorgeous of settings, there are some fabulous perks. One of the ultimate benefits is that kids under 12 not only stay for free when booked in their parents’ villa but eat for free when ordering from the kids menus according to their parents’ meal plan.

It’s complimentary
The K Club is a complimentary service (with some activities offered for a nominal fee) open daily from 8:30am to 6:30pm and is offered to children between the ages of 4 and 11, with age-appropriate activities enjoyed in two age groups: 4-7 and 8-11. Babysitting services are also available at an extra charge and all kids below 4 years old must be accompanied by a parent or babysitter.
